Become a volunteer and share your skills with us.
DealHelp.org is built around a simple idea: consumers should understand what they're signing before they finance, lease, or buy a vehicle.
Our platform uses AI to provide instant assistance, but AI is only part of what we do. When available, real volunteers can step in to provide an additional human perspective, help consumers understand their documents, research questions, and point them toward reliable third-party resources.
We're looking for volunteers who want to use their skills and experience to help make vehicle purchasing more transparent.
You don't need to be an automotive expert to contribute. We have opportunities for people with automotive, finance, research, writing, social media, technology, design, and organizational skills.

CONSUMER POLICY ADVOCATE
Help turn consumer problems into better laws.
DealHelp.org isn't just interested in helping consumers understand today's vehicle deals. We also want to understand why consumers encounter the same problems repeatedly — and what can be done to improve the system.
Our Consumer Policy & Legislative Advocacy volunteer will help research consumer-protection issues and develop evidence-based recommendations for policymakers.
The goal is simple:
Identify problems. Research solutions. Recommend change.

Example Projects
Skills & Experience
Ideal candidates may have experience in:
- Law or legal research.
- Public policy.
- Government relations.
- Legislative affairs.
- Regulatory affairs.
- Political science.
- Consumer protection.
- Public administration.
- Economics.
- Journalism or investigative research.
- Automotive finance.
- Automotive retail.
- Regulatory compliance.
Law students, public-policy students, political science students, paralegals, lawyers, former government employees, researchers, and experienced consumer advocates are encouraged to apply.
What You Don't Need
You do not need to be a lawyer or professional lobbyist.
A strong researcher who can identify a problem, find authoritative sources, understand legislation, and communicate a well-reasoned recommendation can make a significant contribution.
Important Role Boundaries
This is a policy research and advocacy position, not a position providing legal advice to consumers.
Volunteers will not represent DealHelp.org as legal counsel unless appropriately qualified and specifically authorized to do so.
Policy recommendations should be evidence-based, non-partisan, and focused on improving consumer protection.
DealHelp.org does not endorse or oppose political parties or individual candidates.
Why This Role Matters
Individual consumers often have very little ability to influence legislation.
A consumer might encounter a confusing fee, financing disclosure, add-on product, or sales practice once.
A consumer advocacy organization can identify when hundreds or thousands of consumers are experiencing the same problem.
That's where meaningful policy change can begin.
Our volunteers can help turn those patterns into research, recommendations, and ultimately conversations with the people responsible for creating and enforcing consumer-protection laws.
A Long-Term Goal
We want DealHelp.org to become more than a place where consumers can ask:
"Is this deal okay?"
We want to eventually be able to ask:
"Why does this keep happening, and what should the law do about it?"
If you are interested in consumer protection, public policy, law, government, or automotive finance, we'd love to hear from you.
